Thresher sharks

I just got back from vacation, so I finally had the chance to upload the last shark from shark-a-day! I chose the Thresher shark because I LOVE their tails, and big puppy dog eyes :) I want to thank everyone who participated.. I didn't know it would be such a success, and I'm definately going to do this next year. Maybe next year I can get people donate their pieces to a charity auction to benefit sharks? We'll see!

Day six- Great White Shark

Day six was Great Whites! To me, they look like they have a lot of round shapes, and it was hard to make them look menacing without compromising the design. I tried to go for a happy medium between round and sharp, triangle shapes. I will have to practice these a little more!
Sunday is a free for all! Shark week ends today :( saaaad.

Day four and five

Oops, forgot to update! Thursday's shark was the Hammerhead (scalloped, great, smooth, and any subspecies) and Friday was Australian Ghost Shark.. also known as the Elephant Shark :) I switched the shark schedule a little bit, and decided to switch Saturday's shark to the Great White. Sunday is a free-for-all!

Australian Ghost Shark
and a variety of Hammerheads.

Shark week is almost over :( sad.

Day two- Goblin Sharks

Day two of the shark-a-day drawing jam. Today's shark was suggested by Mr. Anka, and I will be the first to admit that this was a challenging shark to draw/caricature. Challenging, but fun! Goblin Sharks are suuuuper creepy..

Shark-a-day drawing jam

So, it's Shark Week on Discovery Channel, the best week of the year. I've been planning on picking one species to draw every day of shark week. Seven days, seven species of sharks.
I was wondering if anyone would want to join me in this little adventure? If I get submissions, I will post links to them at the end of the week- either to my blog, or DA, respectively. Of course, it doesn't matter if you're late. I'm more concerned about exploring the different designs of different sharks and though I plan to make a drawing a day, it doesn't mean you would have to. So long as you draw a shark (maybe all 7!) and you post a link to your drawing by the end of the week (next Sunday). No rules here, this is all for fun.

Monday was Oceanic White Tips-

Here is a random page I did the first day of Shark Week.
Here is the schedule for the rest of the week-
Tuesday- Goblin Shark
Wednesday- Mako Shark (shortfin or longfin, doesn't matter.)
Thursday- Hammerhead Shark (great, scalloped, or smooth, doesn't matter.)
Friday- Blue Shark
Saturday- Thresher S
hark (common, pelagic, or bigeye, doesn't matter.)
Sunday- Great White

Happy Shark Week!!!
